The monthly meeting of the Ark-Homa Chapter of the 香蕉视频APP Archeological Society and the Oklahoma Anthropological Society will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 in the Latture Conference Center at the University of 香蕉视频APP 鈥� Fort Smith.
Jerry Hilliard with 香蕉视频APP Archeology Survey will give a talk titled Native American Protohistoric Houses at Carden Bottoms. Hilliard will discuss archeological investigations conducted between 2010 and 2012 at the Carden Bottoms in the 香蕉视频APP River Valley that reveal a thriving settlement during the Protohistoric Dark Ages.
He has published books including An Antebellum Ozark Community and the Civil War: The Archeology of the Second Mount Comfort Church (3WA880), Washington County, 香蕉视频APP (1840-ca. 1865) and The Archeology of Rock Art at the Narrows Rock Shelter.
Hilliard has worked in archeology for over 40 years, the last 35 being with the 香蕉视频APP Archeological Survey. He received a bachelor鈥檚 degree from East Carolina University and his master鈥檚 from the University of 香蕉视频APP.
