The Babb Center for Career Services provides career education programs to students
and alumni to develop workforce ready graduates with professional skills. We connect
students with employers to gain valuable experience in their field of study.
Mission
Career and Professional Development - Assist students to identify their career path,
develop career action plans, and build a career toolbox.
Employer Relations - Build strong employer relationships to maximize students' job
search and experiential learning opportunities.
Provide an opportunity for students to increase their marketability to employers through
a Certificate of Distinction in Student Professional Development (CSPD).

Nigel Otero
Assistant Director of Career Services
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Nigel has called Fort Smith home for the past
15 years. While attending the UAFS, he served for six years in the Army National Guard
and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Nigel began his professional career at
the ROAR First-Year Advising Center where he worked for three years before transitioning
to the College of Business, serving there for an additional four years. During his
time in the College of Business, he earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration
through UAFS. Altogether, he brings more than seven years of experience in student
advising and retention. He looks forward to continuing to serve the student population
by helping prepare students to enter the workforce equipped with the tools necessary
for success.
Susan Krafft
Executive Director of Career Services
Susan brings a robust set of academic, non-profit management, fundraising, and corporate
experience to UAFS. Before joining UAFS she played a pivotal role in the educational
and outreach initiatives of the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce as its Director of
Leadership and Education programs. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology
from Hendrix College and her graduate degree in industrial/organizational psychology
from the University of Tulsa.
